Dekton damaged worktop

We repaired this damaged Dekton worktop in Dodworth, near Barnsley in South Yorkshire. The customer had dropped a large pan, which caught the edge of the island bar. There was also impact damage at the end of the kitchen worktop run, where another dropped item had cracked and chipped the edge.

As the photograph shows, a section of the edge had broken away completely, and the missing piece was not available to refit. We mixed colour-matched resins with gold flecks to blend the repair with the brown, black and gold pattern of the Dekton. We filled the damaged areas, including the surrounding cracks, then carefully sanded and diamond-polished the repairs to match the existing finish.

Because the work was carried out in the customer’s home, we used a powerful dust extraction unit to collect dust during the repair. The job took around five hours to complete.
