The Enduring Appeal of Granite Worktops

Granite is a natural stone, directly quarried from the earth. Varieties like jet black and charcoal grey granites are known for their exceptional hardness and longevity. However, their high-gloss finish often highlighted every mark and fingerprint, making them appear untidy despite their toughness. White granite was generally easier to maintain as marks were less visible. Iconic dark granites such as African Black Granite, Nero Absolute, and Impala all shared this maintenance challenge, yet their durability kept them in high demand. Classic natural  colours like Baltic Brown, Kashmir White, New Venetian Gold, Blue Pearl, Emerald Pearl, Giallo Veneziano, Rosso Red, Sardo Grey, Rosso Porino, and Balmoral Red also had their moment, with new colours constantly emerging as global quarries supplied the kitchen worktop industry.

The Rise of Quartz Worktops and Our Repair Expertise

Today, engineered quartz is the most sought-after worktop surface. This man-made material offers hundreds of colours and styles. Grey, white with gold veins, pure white, beige, black, sparkly white, and sparkly beige quartz remain popular choices. Veined quartz worktops, especially marble-look quartz, quartz with grey veins, quartz with gold veins, and Calacatta quartz, are currently trending. Many homeowners also opt for modern finishes like matte or honed quartz, concrete-look quartz, and various edge details such as Bullnose, Ogee, Half Bullnose, Chamfered, and Pencil Round.

Despite their strength, quartz worktops can still stain and chip. We perform many quartz worktop repair services, including stain removal, chip repair, crack restoration, and dent repair.
